Studying design at Savonia University of Applied Sciences consists wide range of different methods and tools to find the right kind of designer path but the main emphasis is in service design. My passion is to design digital products and services in future, but I want to maintain my skills in graphic design and photography since I think those are good skills to have when working in digital world.

Developing MOOC-courses
The main assignment for a course called ”Designing good life” was to research and develop MOOC (Massive Open Online)-courses. MOOCs are free online courses available for anyone to enroll. The main goal was to come up with different kinds of solutions for Savonia university of Applied Sciences.
This assignment was my first larger-scale project where I collected data through interviews and observations, used the data to create user personas, customer journey maps and produced my final concept; rower-learning method. I also facilitated 2 different workshops to brainstorm ideas and test my concept with students. Below you can download and scroll through my final presentation for the client.

Building a design language system
Central Archives for Finnish Business Records’ (Elinkeinoelämän Keskusarkisto Elka) gave us free hands on building their digital environment as a school assignment. Our group decided to dive deep into Figma and create a design language system for Elka’s new filing service for consumers.
When other students build a new graphical instructions, we built digital elements complimenting the new visual style.
My responsibilities were creating text styles, spacing system and different kinds of components for navigating in the website. You can visit the design language system here.
Furthermore our group build a prototype to simulate the admin’s view on the new website. You can visit the prototype here.
The design system and the prototype was creating with Emma-Roosa Koponen and Niina Turunen.

Roliga- app
This app is designed for families to find fun and creative activities. This app gathers all the cool DIY-projects and plays you find on different social medias but never remember them when the time comes.
Project started with benchmarking other similar apps, wireframing through paperprototypes, creating foundations and components and finally created the digital prototype itself. You can find the prototype from here.

Online course platform
During a course called ”Design of good life” we had to develop tools to make MOOC-courses (Massive Open Online Course) more appealing and easier to accomplish. You can check the platform here.

Graphic design
Designing a brand
In this school assignment I had to come up with an imaginary business and create a brand book for it; starting from brand colors, typography and graphic elements.
Papru-webshop is a webshop that sells high-end wrapping papers, cards and all sorts of paper materials. During this project I learned a lot about different graphic design tools, what is needed when creating a brand and how to make everything cohesive. This assignment was given during pandemic so building a photoshoot environment at home was pretty interesting operation.
Graphic design is a part of my studies and especially Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop are tools that I use often. Lately my aim has been to learn more about Illustrator and the possibilities with it.
Below you can see my school assignments and also personal ”passion projects”. I try to practice wide range of different styles starting from more artistic drawings to structured infographics.
Photography
Product photography is something that I want to learn and practice more since it’s a valuable skill working in a webshop. I also want to maintain my visual eye even if photographing wouldn’t be my main job in future.
